At first glance, Fine Turno presents itself as an archaic, full-bodied earthenware vessel—a solitary volume rendered in warm, unpretentious terracotta. Yet, trace its swelling surface and the piece unfolds into a whimsical, narrative procession: a line of miniature, hand-sculpted black figures spiraling around its contours like clockwork workers at the close of a day, ascending toward the vessel's rim.

Monaldi transforms the domestic ceramic object into a stage for everyday existentialism. The stark contrast between the raw, tactile grain of the unglazed terracotta and the dark, glossy precision of the marching figures captures his signature ability to infuse classical Italian craft with surreal, graphic wit. A singular study in volume, rhythm, and materiality, Fine Turno commands a subtle yet magnetic presence in contemporary spaces.

Davide Monaldi lives and works in Milan. Working primarily with ceramic—a medium rooted deeply in Italian artisanal tradition—Monaldi subverts classical earthenware into sharp, narrative, and melancholic sculptural studies.
Rejecting the purely decorative history of the medium, Monaldi uses clay as a conceptual canvas. His practice centers on the nuances of modern life, emotional routine, and the subtle absurdity found within the mundane. Hand-modeled entirely without industrial molds, each piece retains a tactile, human quality where artisanal craftsmanship meets graphic, contemporary surrealism.

In accordance with EU Directive 2011/83/EU, private European consumers (B2C) have a mandatory 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of delivery to return their purchase for a full refund, provided the item is shipped back fully insured in its original condition at the buyer's expense. Each work presented by Pièce de Résistance is individually hand-crafted or produced in limited studio editions using raw, natural, or hand-worked materials—including wood, metal, resin, and ceramic. Due to the artisanal methodology and organic nature of these materials, subtle variations in texture, grain, tone, patination, and minor dimensional nuances are inherent to the process. Imagery and gallery display pieces (including Artist Proofs) serve as accurate references, but final pieces may display unique, natural distinctions. These variations are essential to the artistic integrity of collectible design and do not constitute defects.

Limitation of Liability

Neither Pièce de Résistance nor its represented designers and artists shall be held liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the handling, installation, use, or placement of any object.
