A unique sculptural vase exploring themes of material tension, form, and identity. Hand-blown by Inderjeet Sandhu as part of his That's Bananas series, the piece balances raw surface texture with smooth, fluid geometry.  

Rooted in Sandhu’s investigation into domestic objects and global trade systems, the That's Bananas series utilizes the Cavendish banana—a re-engineered, mass-exported monoculture—to mirror selective exoticism and the erasure of cultural origin. Spoils operates as an autonomous, floor-standing or tabletop sculptural vase that confronts the viewer through stark material contrast. The vessel juxtaposes hand-blown, fluid glass geometry against raw, tactile surface treatments—symbolizing the tension between what is made palatable for consumption and the underlying, unvarnished realities of displacement and labor. 
Artist

Inderjeet Sandhu is a multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Amsterdam. A graduate of the Royal College of Art in London, his work bridges contemporary design and fine art through unexpected material pairings and sculptural forms. Blurring the line between utility and conceptual craft, Sandhu creates unique studio glass pieces that explore domestic space, material culture, and narrative identity.

Return Policy

In accordance with EU Directive 2011/83/EU, private European consumers (B2C) have a mandatory 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of delivery to return their purchase for a full refund, provided the item is shipped back fully insured in its original condition at the buyer's expense. All Business-to-Business (B2B) transactions and orders shipped outside the European Union are strictly Final Sale and non-refundable. In the event of transit damage, clients must contact the gallery within 48 hours of receipt with full photographic documentation to process an insurance claim.

Material Variations & Handcrafted Character

Each work presented by Pièce de Résistance is individually hand-crafted or produced in limited studio editions using raw, natural, or hand-worked materials—including wood, metal, resin, and ceramic. Due to the artisanal methodology and organic nature of these materials, subtle variations in texture, grain, tone, patination, and minor dimensional nuances are inherent to the process. Imagery and gallery display pieces (including Artist Proofs) serve as accurate references, but final pieces may display unique, natural distinctions. These variations are essential to the artistic integrity of collectible design and do not constitute defects.

Limitation of Liability

Neither Pièce de Résistance nor its represented designers and artists shall be held liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the handling, installation, use, or placement of any object. The gallery and its designers assume no liability for damage, wear, or alteration occurring after final delivery and client acceptance, including damage resulting from improper installation, environmental exposure, or normal wear and tear.
