Standing at a dramatic vertical scale, this floor lamp by Marten Herma Anderson investigates structural assemblage, materiality, and light diffusion. The piece is built upon a stacked, totemic column composed of rectilinear ceramic blocks, anchored by a weighted base.

Surmounting the ceramic column, an oversized translucent resin diffuser encases an internal grid of hand-stitched thread around a central light source. The grid provides structural rhythm within the organic, translucent envelope, capturing light from the bulb to cast a soft, diffuse glow throughout the surrounding architectural volume.

Commissioned in a limited edition of 10 for Correspondances, the inaugural exhibition at Pièce de Résistance.

Artist

Marten Herma Anderson is a Berlin-based designer and sculptor whose practice bridges architecture, hand-cast ceramics, and translucent resins. Drawing inspiration from the stark coastal landscapes of his native Baltic island of Rügen alongside structural geometry, his work explores the quiet tension between material nostalgia, light, and spatial memory.

Return Policy

All sales are final. Due to the unique nature of gallery acquisitions, limited editions, and bespoke productions, we do not accept returns, refunds, or cancellations once an order or deposit is confirmed. Transit & Condition Claims: Every piece is inspected and documented prior to release. Transports are conducted via specialized white-glove art logistics. The recipient must inspect the shipment upon delivery in the presence of the carrier. Any claim regarding transit damage must be noted on the delivery receipt and submitted to info@piecederesistance.com within 24 hours with high-resolution photographs of the damage and packaging. Failure to report within this window constitutes full acceptance of the piece in its delivered state.

Material Variations & Handcrafted Character

Each work presented by Pièce de Résistance is individually hand-crafted or produced in limited studio editions using raw, natural, or hand-worked materials—including wood, metal, resin, and ceramic. Due to the artisanal methodology and organic nature of these materials, subtle variations in texture, grain, tone, patination, and minor dimensional nuances are inherent to the process. Imagery and gallery display pieces (including Artist Proofs) serve as accurate references, but final pieces may display unique, natural distinctions. These variations are essential to the artistic integrity of collectible design and do not constitute defects.

Limitation of Liability

Neither Pièce de Résistance nor its represented designers and artists shall be held liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the handling, installation, use, or placement of any object. The gallery and its designers assume no liability for damage, wear, or alteration occurring after final delivery and client acceptance, including damage resulting from improper installation, environmental exposure, or normal wear and tear.
