Made to order in a limited edition of AP+10 with an 6-week lead time

Forged with low-slung, architectural presence, this low table by Hannah Kuhlmann treats stainless steel not as an industrial monolith, but as a fluid, tailored garment for the floor. The piece features an expansive circular top with a mirror-polished finish, supported by heavy-gauge tubular legs that curve gently outwards at the base—recalling fluid structural piping or bowed architectural feet.

Rather than striving for cold factory uniformity, Kuhlmann approaches metalwork through the lens of garment construction. Hand-cut, welded, and polished in her Cologne studio, the metal bears subtle traces of heat and mechanical negotiation along its joints and rolled edges. Its reflective top behaves as a liquid pool, capturing shifting overhead light, ceiling details, and room shadows, making the table a grounding focal point that occupies space with quiet autonomy and tactile dignity.

Commissioned in a limited edition of AP+10 for Correspondances, the inaugural exhibition at Pièce de Résistance.

Artist

Hannah Kuhlmann is a Cologne-based artist and designer whose decade-long study of sheet metal reinterprets industrial materials through hand-folding, cutting, and welding techniques. Conceiving her objects as autonomous spatial companions, her practice explores the delicate boundary between raw metallurgy, functional form, and interior architecture.

Return Policy

All sales are final. Due to the unique nature of gallery acquisitions, limited editions, and bespoke productions, we do not accept returns, refunds, or cancellations once an order or deposit is confirmed. Transit & Condition Claims: Every piece is inspected and documented prior to release. Transports are conducted via specialized white-glove art logistics. The recipient must inspect the shipment upon delivery in the presence of the carrier. Any claim regarding transit damage must be noted on the delivery receipt and submitted to info@piecederesistance.com within 24 hours with high-resolution photographs of the damage and packaging. Failure to report within this window constitutes full acceptance of the piece in its delivered state.

Material Variations & Handcrafted Character

Each work presented by Pièce de Résistance is individually hand-crafted or produced in limited studio editions using raw, natural, or hand-worked materials—including wood, metal, resin, and ceramic. Due to the artisanal methodology and organic nature of these materials, subtle variations in texture, grain, tone, patination, and minor dimensional nuances are inherent to the process. Imagery and gallery display pieces (including Artist Proofs) serve as accurate references, but final pieces may display unique, natural distinctions. These variations are essential to the artistic integrity of collectible design and do not constitute defects.

Limitation of Liability

Neither Pièce de Résistance nor its represented designers and artists shall be held liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the handling, installation, use, or placement of any object. The gallery and its designers assume no liability for damage, wear, or alteration occurring after final delivery and client acceptance, including damage resulting from improper installation, environmental exposure, or normal wear and tear.
