The Climate Chair translates Gonzalez Haase AAS’s architectural rigor into a radical, floor-standing sculptural object. Designed by the Berlin-based architecture practice Gonzalez Haase AAS, the Climate Chair sits at the intersection of spatial theory, light interaction, and industrial precision. Known for their reductive, high-contrast interiors and lighting installations, the duo approaches furniture not as comfortable decor, but as precise architectural markers. Constructed with sharp geometric clarity, its reflective and tactile surfaces react directly to surrounding light and climate, continuously redefining its presence within a space. Operating as an autonomous sculptural work, it commands high-impact visual weight while maintaining an unyielding, conceptual edge.
Designer

Gonzalez Haase AAS is a Berlin-based architecture, interior, and scenography studio founded in 1999 by Parisian architect Pierre Jorge Gonzalez and German architect Judith Haase. Operating at the intersection of architecture and contemporary art, the practice is world-renowned for its radical spatial concepts, play on primary light, and unadorned material finish. Having designed notable galleries, luxury retail spaces, and high-profile private collections globally, their standalone design objects translate full-scale architectural space into precise, monolithic forms.

Material Variations & Handcrafted Character

Each work presented by Pièce de Résistance is individually hand-crafted or produced in limited studio editions using raw, natural, or hand-worked materials—including wood, metal, resin, and ceramic. Due to the artisanal methodology and organic nature of these materials, subtle variations in texture, grain, tone, patination, and minor dimensional nuances are inherent to the process. Imagery and gallery display pieces (including Artist Proofs) serve as accurate references, but final pieces may display unique, natural distinctions. These variations are essential to the artistic integrity of collectible design and do not constitute defects.

Limitation of Liability

Neither Pièce de Résistance nor its represented designers and artists shall be held liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the handling, installation, use, or placement of any object. The gallery and its designers assume no liability for damage, wear, or alteration occurring after final delivery and client acceptance, including damage resulting from improper installation, environmental exposure, or normal wear and tear.
