A compelling exercise in mechanical balance and material tension, the SL-01 Lamp by Jan Gliński Studio couples laboratory precision with raw, unyielding stone. Built on Gliński’s AXI3© modular system—a 3-axis joint mechanism engineered for structural flexibility—the lamp relies on slender stainless steel rods connected via technical cross-clamps to anchor its components.

The architectural framework holds a cylindrical metal socket cup at one end while counterbalancing a rugged block of natural stone on the other. Stripped of decorative cladding, the design celebrates honest engineering, exposing every functional connection and fastener. The industrial coldness of brushed steel and the organic weight of the stone base establish a delicate equilibrium, capped by a crown-silvered filament bulb that casts a warm, glare-free ambient light.

Jan Gliński Studio is a Warsaw-based practice operating at the intersection of technical design, industrial artifact, and functional sculpture. At the core of the studio's practice is the AXI3© modular system—a proprietary 3-axis joint developed by Gliński that serves as the structural and aesthetic foundation across his lighting and furniture works. By pairing precision-engineered joint modules with unrefined natural stone and raw industrial media, Gliński develops a minimalist, reconfigurable visual dialect rooted in physical balance and structural autonomy.

Return Policy

All sales are final. Due to the unique nature of gallery acquisitions, limited editions, and bespoke productions, we do not accept returns, refunds, or cancellations once an order or deposit is confirmed. Transit & Condition Claims: Every piece is inspected and documented prior to release. Transports are conducted via specialized white-glove art logistics. The recipient must inspect the shipment upon delivery in the presence of the carrier. Any claim regarding transit damage must be noted on the delivery receipt and submitted to info@piecederesistance.com within 24 hours with high-resolution photographs of the damage and packaging. Failure to report within this window constitutes full acceptance of the piece in its delivered state.

Material Variations & Handcrafted Character

Each work presented by Pièce de Résistance is individually hand-crafted or produced in limited studio editions using raw, natural, or hand-worked materials—including wood, metal, resin, and ceramic. Due to the artisanal methodology and organic nature of these materials, subtle variations in texture, grain, tone, patination, and minor dimensional nuances are inherent to the process. Imagery and gallery display pieces (including Artist Proofs) serve as accurate references, but final pieces may display unique, natural distinctions. These variations are essential to the artistic integrity of collectible design and do not constitute defects.

Limitation of Liability

Neither Pièce de Résistance nor its represented designers and artists shall be held liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the handling, installation, use, or placement of any object. The gallery and its designers assume no liability for damage, wear, or alteration occurring after final delivery and client acceptance, including damage resulting from improper installation, environmental exposure, or normal wear and tear.
